Last Week of DCC Summer Events!

Hello everyone!!! Amazing though it seems, the summer is drawing to a close and I am bound for the east side of the state next weekend where I will be getting ready to complete my student teaching. That being said, this will be the last week of events for the DCC Jr. High students for a while.

This upcoming Wednesday, July 10th, is our last bible study. It will be at my house at 2pm. (We had to move the date to Wednesday because I will be out of town on Tuesday.) We will then be having an End of the Summer BBQ at the Winfield's house on Friday, July 12th. Students are encouraged to bring a desert or side dish they would like to share, as well as any games they would like to play. We will be hanging out, eating good food, and enjoying fellowship with one another.

As of right now, I am planning on downloading all of our summer pictures onto a USB memory stick that I will leave in the church office. If you would like a copy of any of these pictures, contact the church staff after the 13th of July and they should be able to let you borrow the USB drive if no one else is using it. :)

I just want to thank everyone again for such an amazing summer. I have been truly blessed to have worked with the Jr. High students at DCC and I incredibly thankful for the parents that supported us by driving, opening up their homes, and praying for the jr. high ministry throughout the summer. :) God bless each of you as the summer winds down and the school year commences!

Final Week of Events

This Tuesday, August 2nd, we will be taking the students to La Push. Meet in the DCC parking lot at 9am...we will hopefully be back in Sequim around 5pm. Students should bring: a MEDICAL RELEASE FORM, a watter bottle, their own lunch, a swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen, a jacket, beach shoes, and about 3 dollars to help pay for the cost of gas. We still need one more driver for this trip! If you are available to drive, please conact me as soon as you can!

(Bible Study for this week has been canceled due to the trip to La Push.)

This upcoming Friday, August 5th, we will be meeting at the Holland's house on Palo Alto Road for Paintballing! Students are asked to bring their own paint and equipment. If a student doesn't have paintballing equipment, but would like to come, have them contact me and I will find them some equipment they can borrow. We do want all the students that want to come to the event be able to come :). Paint can be purchased at Walmart. (It is helpful if a couple students split the cost of paint, as a full box can be up to 30 dollars.) OR you can bring $8.50 or 9 dollars to the Holland's home and purchase paint there. Paintballing will go from 11am to 4:30pm. Students will be fed lunch around noon.

Also, students need to be sure to bring a water bottle, a medical release form, and clothes that they are willing to get dirty (students should wear layers/padding when paintballing as a safety precaution)!!!

The Hurricane Ridge/Lake Crescent hike scheduled for this Thursday has been CANCELED! (One of my relatives suddenly passed away and her memorial service is this Thursday in Salem, OR. I will look at the summer calendar and try to reschedule this event for a better time.) In the meantime we will be having an ice cream social this Friday from 4:30pm to 5:45pm at Dairy Queen. Please have your child bring money if they wish to get food and ice cream from Dairy Queen. Students will be meeting the new youth pastor candidate during this time of fellowship.
